• NO PETS, NO GUM, NO FOOD OR DRINKS, NO SPITTING on the fields
• Proper footwear required – Indoor or turf shoes only (no metal cleats).
• Teams must check in at the front office.
• Any team that fails to appear within 5 minutes of their scheduled time will forfeit the match.
• Children must be supervised at all times.
• No fighting or abusive language – Automatic ejection and possible suspension.
• ETX Premier Soccer reserves the right to remove anyone violating these rules or creating an unsafe environment.

🏆 5-A-Side Game Rules

These are the standard rules for all leagues and tournaments hosted at ETX Premier Soccer.

Team Setup

• 5 players total (4 field players + 1 goalkeeper).
• A minimum of 8 registered players is required per team.
• Substitutions are unlimited and on the fly (the exiting player must be off before the sub enters).
• Each team must have at least 3 players to start a match.

Game Length

• Two halves, 20 minutes each, with a 2-minute halftime.
• Running clock – only stopped for serious injuries or referee discretion.
• Games must start on time; delays shorten the first half.

Gameplay Rules

• Kick-ins replace throw-ins when the ball goes out of bounds.
• Goalkeeper cannot punt – must roll, throw, or play from the ground.
• No slide tackling – safety first.
• Goalkeepers must release the ball within 5 seconds of possession.
• No offsides in 5-a-side play.
• Restart from the center after every goal.

Fouls and Discipline

• 5 fouls per team per half – after that, a direct free kick from the penalty spot is awarded.
• Yellow card = 2-minute time penalty (team plays short).
• Red card = ejection (team plays down for 2 minutes or until opposing team scores).
• Serious misconduct or fighting = removal from league/tournament.

Scoring and Standings (for leagues)

• Win: 3 points
• Draw: 1 point
• Loss: 0 points
• Tiebreakers decided by: goal difference → goals scored → head-to-head → coin toss.

Referee Authority

• The referee's decision is final.
• Arguing or disrespecting officials may result in warnings, cards, or suspension.
